The majority of Mizuki Shigeru fans know about Sakaiminato City and its statues from his work. But many people do not know about the Yokai Village and Yokai Matsuri (festival) found in the Oboke region of Tokushima-ken, Shikoku.
I saw the poster advertising the festival a few years ago and ever since I have been determined to go. I created a few entries with information on how to get to the Yokai Village along with photographs and video of the village itself and the festival over at my blog.

Seems pretty dead in here, but I figure it's worth a shot. Anyway...

Ey guys, I've been watching some Hakaba Kitaro today and I really like the opening theme. But it's kinda blurry when they mention who's working that, so could any of you help me out and tell me who is?

Hello!
I just wanted to share a fun little item I got as part of a cell strap lot off yahoo japan. I really think he's a sort of homage to Medama Oyaji. What do you think?
If anyone wants one (I have ten, on pink or blue straps) I am selling some on ebay <here> or you can just get it from me outside of ebay for the same as the opening bid. Hopefully it's okay to mention that here... The one I kept for myself was the only one to come in with a rainbow strap! oooooh
ALSO!
They have yet to arrive (just a week to go) but I have two new Maneki Neko for my collection
They also made a Nezuki Otoko version, but it didn't really look much different from the normal Nezumi Otoko. Why they didn't make a Neko Musume is a mystery!

Hey I'm new to the community and really excited about Kitarou as I only discovered it really recently. I'm super excited because not only will I definitely be going to the movie but also I'm going to Kitarou Road in Tottori tomorrow! But anyways I'll get to the orginal reason of this post - does anyone have the song lyrics to gegege no kitarou and karankoron no uta?

Over on CDJapan's DVD site - they're advertising complete DVD boxsets of the 1968 and 1971 GEGEGE NO KITARO anime series for release in December. The 1985 boxset is already out.
Over at the Yokai Monsters livejournal page, there's news of a big Kitaro live-action movie to be released in April 2007.

New here!
I found this community 'cos I'm doing a translation of a Kitaro chapter for my final Japanese project and was looking for some info on badass Mr. Mizuki. I've been interested in Gegege for a while but just recently bought a few volumes - the art is amazing and so totally different from what you normally think of when you think 'manga,' so it hooked me right away.
I'm really interested in seeing some of the anime if anyone has any links to torrents or anything. It's so weird how this series hasn't caught hardly any interest outside Japan for how popular it is/was.
